Followed topics, saved headline snapshots, display choices, alert settings and manually entered holdings are stored in your browser. We do not upload these choices or holdings to our server. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes them. Portfolio CSV exports are created on your device.
Guide read marks are saved in this browser after you mark a lesson. They are shared across learning paths on the same origin and do not sync between devices. Clear reading progress in the guides to remove those marks. Downloaded journal entries remain in your own workbook and are not uploaded to this site.
Your research notebook
Research hypotheses, evidence links and review dates stay in this browser profile. They are not uploaded, published or synced between devices. Anyone with access to this browser profile can read them. The notebook has no analytics tag or automatic network data collection. Choosing Keep in notebook on a data reading passes a public snapshot through temporary storage in the same browser tab, for up to 24 hours. It is added to a note only after you review and save it. The temporary reading is cleared on save or dismissal. Backup files contain your private notes; keep them somewhere you trust. Restore reads the file locally, adds missing notes and keeps existing versions. Moving a note to the bin is reversible; permanent deletion requires confirmation. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes saved notes.
Site operation & measurement
The website runs on Cloudflare. Our own measurement records daily page counts by a broad page type. It does not store IP addresses, user identifiers, cookies or browsing sessions. These are page-view counts, not unique visitor counts. Cloudflare may process technical request information to deliver and protect the site under its own privacy policy.
Toolkit preview and downloads
We record daily aggregate requests for the toolkit preview and its free workbook/PDF samples, grouped by a fixed list of broad entry points such as the guide library. The counts contain no IP addresses, user identifiers, cookies, email addresses or workbook entries. We do not retain full referrer URLs or query text in these counts. Known bots, prefetches, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control requests are excluded. These are request counts, not unique visitors, completed downloads, buyers or sales. Purchases are currently disabled. Your workbook contents stay in your own files and any storage provider you choose.
Optional Google Analytics
When Google Analytics is enabled, we ask for your choice before loading its tag. You can allow or decline it, and change your choice using Analytics choices in the footer. A choice is remembered in this browser for up to 180 days. Do Not Track requests are respected.
If you allow analytics, Google receives measurements of public page visits and technical browser information. Analytics cookies help measure visits and returning readership. We disable advertising features and do not send personal desk pages, holdings, saved stories, headline searches or URL query text. No analytics tag loads before you allow it. Google processes the information under its own privacy policy.
The private publishing desk
The owner’s editor sign-in uses a secure session cookie that expires after eight hours. Drafts, review history and published revisions are stored in the newsroom. Short-lived salted request digests help limit password guessing; raw IP addresses are not saved in the newsroom. Readers do not need accounts.
Optional market displays
TradingView displays load only after you choose to load one. Loading a display connects your browser to TradingView, which may process technical information and use cookies under its own policies. TradingView privacy policy ↗
Other connections
Fonts are served by Google Fonts. Publisher images and original article links connect to the corresponding third-party services. Their privacy policies apply when your browser connects to them.
