THE RESEARCH & JOURNAL TOOLKIT

A clearer record.
A more honest review.

Bring your trades, company research and evidence into a workbook you can inspect. See the maths, keep both sides of a hypothesis and return to what you actually wrote.

3-sheet sample · .xlsx · No email required
Manual entries. Your research stays in your own files.

LESS SCATTERED. EASIER TO QUESTION.

From a trade record to a research trail

A practical set of worksheets for people learning to keep consistent records. It gives you structure and visible calculations; you bring the source documents, observations and judgement.

01 / RECORD

A 200-trade journal

Record long or short share trades in GBP, USD or EUR, with separate entry and exit FX rates and explicit costs. Missing inputs and duplicate IDs are flagged.

02 / REVIEW

Results you can trace

Review net GBP results, original price risk, net R, win rate, profit factor and monthly summaries. Open records stay separate from realised results.

03 / INVESTIGATE

Company financials

Compare two compatible periods for a non-financial business: cash flow, debt, interest coverage and receivables versus revenue. Keep original source links and dates.

04 / CHALLENGE

An evidence record

Use 40 rows for supporting, contradictory and contextual evidence. Record a falsifier and a review date. Entry counts do not become a conviction score.

05 / PRACTISE

Three worked trades

Edit fictional long, short and fee-sensitive examples. See why an FX change affects a GBP result and why a gross price gain can still produce a net loss.

06 / UNDERSTAND

A 10-page walkthrough

Follow the worksheets and three fictional company cases: weaker cash conversion, improving cash generation and rising financing pressure.

Scope, format and privacy

Will it work in Excel or Google Sheets?

The format is .xlsx with standard formulas and dropdowns, plus a PDF walkthrough. Export, reopening and calculation checks have passed in an automated spreadsheet engine. Desktop Excel and Google Sheets have not been manually verified. Download the free sample to check formulas, dates, dropdowns and layout in your own app first.

What trades can I record?

Manual share-trade arithmetic in GBP, USD or EUR. One row covers a simple round trip with the same quantity at entry and exit, or an open position. Partial exits, multi-fill reconciliation, corporate actions, dividends received, derivatives and tax-lot accounting are outside this version. Include all applicable costs yourself. Original price risk excludes fees, FX moves and worse fills; it is not a maximum loss.

Does it tell me what to buy or sell?

No. It records your inputs, calculations and evidence. The company worksheet is intended for non-financial businesses and does not verify filings, value securities or produce trading signals. All worked cases are fictional.

Is my workbook uploaded to heyitsbiz.com?

No. Your entries remain in your files and any storage service you choose. The site records only daily aggregate requests for this preview and its sample files, grouped by a short list of entry points. Those counts contain no workbook contents, IP addresses, user identifiers or cookies. They do not identify unique visitors or buyers. Read the privacy notice.

What would the one-off purchase include?

The six-sheet .xlsx workbook, 10-page PDF walkthrough and personal-use notes in a downloadable ZIP. You can edit your own copy and keep backups. Redistribution or resale of the full files is not included. No future updates or investment outcomes are promised. Payment, seller details and purchase terms will be completed before sales open.
